Television research

The purpose of television research is to verify the anomalies of the natural field (NF) potential , to identify and delineate the PS ore bodies and the zones of metalliferous deposits in ore fields, as well as visual signs of hydrothermal activity in areas promising for PS. An additional task of television profiling is to collect information on the status of benthic ecosystems.



TV research is carried out using the TV submersible (TVS) Sperre (Fig. 1, 1a) manufactured by "Sperre" (Norway), the grab DG-1 manufactured by "HYCO" (Fig. 2), the grab GK-6T manufactured by "HYCO" (Fig .3) instrumented with television equipment.

Up and down operations are carried out using the winch LMG-160 for TV systems, remotely operated underwater vehicle (Fig. 4) and a portside intercommunication equipment on a carrying optical fiber cable 5 km long.

The television system TVS Sperre (Fig.1) is lowered on the cable KG (3x8.0 + 3x1E) -320-60 manufactured by Pskovgeocable with the help of the LMG-160 winch manufactured by Pskovgeocable.

Telegrab DG-1 (Fig.2)

1. Purpose:

The DG-1 telegrab is designed for seabed sampling by scooping, at depths of up to 5000 meters. The built-in camera provides real-time monitoring of the process with the media recording capability.

2. Main characteristics:

  • Scoop volume - 0,4 m3

  • Coverage area - 1.5 m2

  • Unit weight - 2100 kg

  • Drive mechanism - hydraulic

  • The unit's power is 11 kW

  • Hydraulic system operating pressure - 150 bar

  • Hydraulic system consumption max - 80 l / min

  • Optional - camera, hydraulic oil temperature sensor, hydraulic oil pressure sensor, unit voltage voltmeter, 24V voltmeter, ammeter.


Telegrab GK-6T

1. Purpose:
